Types of Decor that is popular today based on current Google searches:
Americana
“Defining Americana decor starts with defining Americana – which is an embracement of American culture, a curation of the feelings and ideas that compromise its landscape. “
Urban Modern
'The modern urban décor style is a softer and more comfortable look than the harder 'industrial' styles which always used to be associated with the word 'urban'. Modern 'urban' décor is interior design for living in – a home that welcomes us in after a long day nurtures us, and protects us from the 'big bad city’.
Shabby Chic
“An eclectic style that mixes antique furniture with pastel colors, lace, and feminine florals, shabby chic is often also referred to as country chic or vintage chic. If you love this soft and dreamy style, you're in luck, because the shabby chic design and vintage home decor are easy and inexpensive to achieve.”
Asian Style
“Asian-style interior design is a combination of different design styles from all across Asia. In most cases, Asian interior designs incorporate Japanese and Chinese styles, but you can incorporate other exotic styles as well, such as Indian and Arabic. The Chinese design style is noted for its Zen-like aesthetic and simplicity. It is about clean lines and character of shape. Spaces designed in Chinese style are often serene and peaceful.”
Tropical
“Tropical Decor is all about comfort, ease, and utility and is eclectic by definition. The style is characterized by warm and soothing, colors drawn mostly from natural elements such as the sea, sky, and vegetation. Hues may be deep and rich or may fall on the lighter, brighter side.”
Southwestern
“Southwestern Decor is generally characterized by earth-tone colors, rough textures, and crafted objects, brightly colored woven fabrics, an abundance of terra cotta and clay tile roofs. ... Colors showcase a traditional palette of cactus green, adobe red, and desert-toned neutral hues.”
Tuscan
"Inspired by the hills of Italy, Tuscan style is rustic, yet elegant. Some hallmarks of the popular style include aged finishes, iron scrollwork, and intricate patterns. Tuscan style architecture begins with travertine or terra-cotta tiles, travels up textured or plaster walls, and finishes with a beamed ceiling."
Bohemian
"Bohemian decor is a bright, patterned, multi-cultural melange of memorable layers and elements you simply can’t miss or forget for its uniqueness. The word ‘bohemian’ refers to someone who is socially unconventional and often involved in the arts, making it a great interior design option for a rich and heady space full of visual interest and a relaxed spirit."
